The Age of Technology has forced many to adapt to a faster, more schedule-packed way of life. For others, family, work and other events may swallow up all of their leisure time. Regardless of the reason, feeling inundated with activities and obligations does not have to rule your life. Here are some tips that may help you to not become too overwhelmed.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Get organized with a schedule book, calendar¸ to do list. If you can set aside and space out the times to work on things, you can concentrate on things one at a time and know there will still be time to finish the others.

  2. Step 2

Take only as much as you can eat. When your plate is full, your plate is full. Trying to do too much will only make you worry and stress out, making you even less productive.

  3. Step 3

Focus on today. Do things one day at a time. Worrying about every little thing that you have to get done will just burn up more time. Concentrate on the tasks that you need to complete today, in order of importance.

  4. Step 4

Be prepared for the unexpected. Always leave a little time in your schedule to allow for dealing with emergencies and the unplanned events that will inevitably pop up.

  5. Step 5

Schedule time for yourself. All work and no play makes you more than dull. It makes you tired, burnt out, and even bitter. Take the time to recharge and do something that you enjoy, if only for an hour a day. Play a sport, a musical instrument, or meditate - anything that will take your mind off of your to-do list for a little while.

  6. Step 6

Different people have different techniques to prevent them from feeling too overwhelmed and stressed. For some it may be doing yoga or some other form of exercise that may assist them. For others, talking and venting about what is causing you to feel overwhelmed is the answer to prevent the feeling from overpowering you. Give yourself some time to relax. Different people have different techniques to prevent them from feeling too overwhelmed and stressed. Find the right technique that will help you feel comfortable and not stressed or overwhelmed.
