How to Launch a Program Automatically in Snow Leopard

After completing a fresh installation of the Snow Leopard operating system on your Mac computer, any custom settings will be reset. If there are certain programs or applications that you want to launch automatically when you start up your computer, you can reconfigure those options in the "Accounts" section of System Preferences. Automatic program launching can be set up individually for each user account on the computer.

      Click on the "System Preferences" icon in the dock.

      Go to the "Accounts" control panel underneath the "System" heading.

      Click on the lock symbol in the lower-left corner of the window and enter your administrative username and password to authenticate changes.

      Highlight the account that you want to configure automatic program launching for in the list on the left side of the window.

      Go to the "Login Items" at the top of the window.

      Click on the plus symbol to add another application to the automatic launch settings.

      Find the program that you want to automatically launch, highlight it and then hit "Add."
