How to Set Time Zone Automatically in Snow Leopard

The latest release of the Mac OS X operating system, Version 10.6, allows you to configure your desktop or laptop computer to automatically set its time zone based on your current location. For the GPS (Global Positioning System) service to pinpoint your location and set your time zone automatically, you must be connected to a wireless network through the Airport connection on your Mac.

      Connect to a valid wireless network through your Mac's Airport adapter. If your adapter is not on, go to the Airport section of the top menu bar and select "Turn Airport On."

      Go to the "Date & Time" control panel underneath the "System" heading.

      Go to the "Time Zone" tab at the top of the window.
