How to Make Baby Sock Flowers
One trend in baby showers is using baby items as decorations. This way the expectant mother can take them home to use. Baby socks can be made into faux flowers that mimic rosebuds. Sock flowers are ideal because they will not set off the guest of honor's allergies, which can be heightened during pregnancy. You can find baby socks in packages of six for a low cost. Lay the sock out flat in front of you so the cuff is away from you and the toe is toward you.

Roll the toe of the sock upward once so the bottom of the foot is now parallel with the cuff opening.

Make one more roll for a loose, almost blossoming flower, or twice more for a tight bud.

Hold the rolls securely with your non-dominant hand. Use your other hand to open the cuff and flip it inside-out over the rolled portion of the sock. As long as the rolls are secure, how much the cuff covers is an aesthetic decision.

Insert floral wire or a green pipe cleaner in the opening at the base of the flower as far as you can without poking through the other side.

Wrap floral tape around the base of the flower and down the wire or pipe cleaner for at least 1 inch for security.

Choose socks that match the colors the mommy-to-be wants to dress her baby in. Socks with ruffled or different-colored cuffs add detail and stand out.
