Acne can effect both men and women, and can be an embarrassing and painful condition. Luckily, there are a few steps that you can take to get rid of acne quickly.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Basis Soap for Sensitive Skin
  • Benzoyl Peroxide Cream, 2.5% Concentration
  • Oil of Olay Oil-Free Lotion for Sensitive Skin
  1. Step 1

    CLEANSE GENTLY

Most people cleanse their skin too aggressively, and use harsh soaps which can lead to irritation, inflammation, and can aggravate acne pustules. In order to get rid of acne pustules, it is important to only use a soap that is formulated for sensitive skin types. Basis is a good brand that cleans the skin without irritating it. Lather the skin gently, then rinse it with water. Avoid rubbing the skin, as this can cause the skin to become inflamed. Simply lather and rinse.

  2. Step 2

    LOW CONCENTRATION BENZOYL PEROXIDE

Benzoyl peroxide is extremely effective at getting rid of acne, but most people use a concentration that is too high. This can burn the skin and cause severe irritation over time. Use only the lowest strength benzoyl peroxide cream, typically 2.5% concentration. Spread a nickel-sized amount onto the skin, smoothing it carefully around the face until it has been completely absorbed into the skin.

  3. Step 3

    MOISTURIZE

It is necessary to moisturize the skin after using a benzoyl peroxide cream in order to avoid the skin from becoming too dry or irritated. Look for a lotion that is designed for sensitive skin types so that it does not contain harsh chemicals or perfumes. Make sure that it is oil-free so that it does not re--clog the pores. Spread a dime-sized amount around the face until it is absorbed into the skin.
