Whirlpool tubs are wonderful and expensive, but can be also difficult to keep clean. Follow these steps on a routine basis and your tub will always be shiny and ready for you to enjoy a nice, hot relaxing soak!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • bleach
  • dishwasher detergent
  • soft, non-abrasive cleaner
  • soft cloth
  1. Step 1

First, be sure to check the instructions from the tub's manufacturer to make sure there's nothing special you need to know. If you didn't install the tub and don't have an owner's manual, you can probably locate the manufacturer via a tag or label on the tub. Then you can go online to find out any specific instructions for your tub.

  2. Step 2

Fill the tub with water, as hot as possible, over the jets. Add about 1 cup of bleach and a tablespoon of dish detergent.

  3. Step 3

Making sure that the water level is where it needs to be (usually 2 inches above the jets), run the jets so the bleach and detergent can clean the inside of the jets/pipes and remove any standing water.

  4. Step 4

Once the jets have run for about 10-15 minutes, drain the tub completely. Then fill it up with clean, cold water and run the jets again to rinse.

  5. Step 5

Drain the tub and wipe clean with a soft cloth to give it a nice shine.

  6. Step 6

Enjoy your tub! Repeat this process monthly to keep your tub clean, shiny and ready.

Tips & Warnings
  • Never use an abrasive cleaner on a fiberglass tub.
