The last thing natural, afro hair needs is harmful chemicals and additives in a moisturizing, leave in conditioner. Spray your hair once daily with this Leave-In conditioner. I do not guarantee WILD hair growth, but I can guarantee you that your hair will be moisturized. I live in a highly humid area and it works for me!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 spray bottle
  • 1 bottle leave-in conditioner ( I will explain this later)
  • 1 bottled water (I used Dasani)
  • Jojoba oil (PURE)
  • Castor oil (PURE)
  • Coconut oil (PURE)
  • Rosemary essential oil (PURE)
  1. Step 1

    Clean your water bottle.

  2. Step 2

Add 5 caps of your favorite leave in conditioner.
I like Kinky Curly Knot Today leave in conditioner.
I have seen others use IC Fantasia and Infusium 23.. however the point of this article is to teach you how to make a product that is very moisturizing, without any or minimal chemicals..

  3. Step 3

Add as much water as you like, and mix together until the consistency is just right for you.
I like to make the consistency semi-thick. Bottled water, like Dasani or Aquafina, or even FIJI seems not so harsh on my type 4b hair.

  4. Step 4

    Mix in the following:
    - 3 tablespoons pure coconut oil (if it is solid, melt it before adding.)
    - 1 cap pure olive oil
    - 1 cap pure jojoba oil
    - 1/2 cap pure castor oil
    - 5 drops rosemary oil

  5. Step 5

    Shake, spray and style! :)

Tips & Warnings
  • I used coconut oil and castor oil for moisturizing properties.
  • I used jojoba oil because it is similar to sebum, which is found in hair.
  • I used rosemary oil because it stimulates the scalp, and because prolonged use helps slow down the progression of gray hairs. Not that I'm ashamed of gray hairs.. I am actually very proud of them. But I know a lot of other people are concerned with those things, so... :)
  • It is very important that you thoroughly review any essential oils and carrier oils before you put them on your hair. Like, too much peppermint oil burned my scalp a little. That's just an example.
