Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Solar light
  • Rechargeable batteries
  • Phillips-head screwdriver
  1. Step 1

Refer to the included manual to determine the type of solar battery needed in the light. While most handle a universal battery, there are types which are specific to the brand of solar light.

  2. Step 2

Take the solar light apart with a Phillips-head screwdriver; some solar lights do not require this tool, rather they simply pop off. Check your manual to determine the type of solar light you have.

  3. Step 3

As you take the lights apart, make sure you place the pieces in order. This will make it easier for you to remember the correct steps when putting the light back together.

  4. Step 4

When you've disassembled the solar light down to the battery area, gently remove the battery. Using the new solar battery, replace it in the original section. Solar batteries can be found at your local hardware store.

  5. Step 5

Reassemble the solar light and make sure all of the screws are tightly fastened. Place the light directly in the sun to recharge. Solar lights require at least two to three hours of sunlight per day to charge to full capacity.

Tips & Warnings
  • When working with solar lights, be sure to work under a bright light or outside for adequate light. There are many pieces to a solar light so use a white cloth to catch any pieces and for easy viewing. Before you begin the project refer to your manual; solar light batteries are typically rechargeable. Install solar lights in your garden. Use them around your deck and porch for a warm and inviting glow.
  • Make sure not to use alkaline batteries. They will permanently ruin the solar light. Install the solar lights away from the driveway and moving equipment to prevent them from being run over or ruined.
