The wastewater treatment jobs require a program that takes roughly a year to complete, and they can usually be found at community colleges. Here's how to get your wastewater treatment certification.

      Wastewater treatment courses are often found as part of a community college curriculum and take approximately 4 quarters to complete. The length of the program may take longer, if you need pre-requisites; be sure and talk to a counselor at the college to make sure you have your entrance credits covered.

      Take the Waste Water Treatment Certification exam.

      The exam is offered twice a year in most states. It is a written exam and you must have completed all of the waste water program classes before you can sign up to take the test.

      Get your Flagging Certificate.

      A Flagger's certificate is supplemental to a waste water treatment certification and only takes a couple of days and a minimal fee to obtain.

      Get your CDL Class B.

      A Class B CDL is not always required for waste water treatment jobs but employers would likely give preference to applicants who hold this credential.
