How to Make a Fishing Tackle Box Party Favor

If you are planning a birthday party with a fishing theme, this is a must for the party favors and candy to go in for each guest.

Things You'll Need

• 18ct Egg Carton
• Spray Paint
• Poster Board
• Hot Glue Gun

Instructions

1. You will need an egg carton for each guest, so collect ahead of time. I used the 18ct egg carton, but the 12ct would do fine. Open each carton and lay flat on surface to paint, spray to cover good, but don't go overboard, the paint will eat into the egg carton. You may want to do a second coat after it dries. When completely dry, turn the cartons over and do the same procedure.

2. Cut out the handle from the poster board, my measurements are 7 1/2 x 5 1/2 and I cut out holes in center, as you can see in the picture. The holes need to be measured exactly to work. Spray paint these using the same color as the cartons., but you only need to paint one side. After drying completely, fold in half, and fold each flap about 1/2 inch outward at the bottom. Hot glue the inside together, apply hot glue on flaps and secure on top of box, this is your handle.

3. You may want to use some wide packaging tape and secure the back of carton where the top and bottom are connected. This is just to strengthen it. I finished up by using a marker and writing FISHING TACKLE on the top. Let the kids fill the boxes with candy and favors.
