To be an emo kid, your wardrobe has to have certain staples. Skinny jeans, Keds, and skintight, funky shirts. The more stripes, the better. Also, ski hats are the rage for emo kids. Mix and match to your taste, and don't be afraid to experiment, but keep it skinny, and keep it funky.

After you get your wardrobe together, the most important part comes next -- hair. To be an emo kid, your hair has to be PERFECT. If you find any myspace perfection group, that's what your hair should look like. Preferably straight with long bangs. Dye your hair either dark black or put funky colored streaks in it. Purple, green, and blue work well.

To be an emo kid, the second most important thing is makeup. Even emo boys wear makeup. Your eyes should look big. You can do this with a little dark coloring on the underside of each eye. You will also want to extend your eyelashes. A little lip gloss, and the guys are done. Emo girls have a little bit more work. One popular trend is to color your lips the same color as your skin if you're pale. If you have a darker skin tone, color them black, though.

To truly be an emo kid, now that your look is all together, your attitude is next. You must get into the newest music and activities. You can be metal like Attack Attack or Dethklok, or a little bit softer edge like Green Day. You can even go hip hop and jerk with the New Boys. It doesn't matter, as long as it's NEW. Go out in your city. Emo kids usually are up on the local scene just as much as MTV.
