How to treat and control dandruff.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Dandruff can pose a big problem for some people. However, if you are prone to dandruff there are a number of ways to treat the problem. Dandruff is generally caused by an over drying of the scalp causing flaking and sometimes in extreme cases bleeding.

  2. Step 2

The most common way to control dandruff is by using a shampoo and conditioner specifically designed to control dandruff. In addition, there are also oils and hair styling crèmes that are effective in soothing the pain and itching caused by dandruff.

  3. Step 3

It is best to consult with a family doctor or pharmacist before using any over the counter product designed to treat dandruff. In extreme cases, there are some prescription shampoos and crèmes that require a doctor’s authorization on order to obtain.

  4. Step 4

Generally, keeping the hair clean and groomed can protect a person from ever developing the condition in the first place. Keep in mind, in some cases dandruff can develop in people who wash and groom their hair religiously.
