How to Convert a Picture to Black & White

Modern digital cameras capture digital images with high resolution accurately reproducing colors. Converting such an image to the black & white scale gives a different look to the image. Black & white vintage style pictures are a great way to personalize your desktop or website. Adobe Photoshop software makes a black & white picture out of a color picture.

• Adobe Photoshop software

Instructions

1. Start Adobe Photoshop.

2. 

   Click the menu "File " and "Open." Browse your computer and find an image file. Double-click on the file to open it.

3. Click the menu "Image " and "Mode."

4. 

   Click "Grayscale" and then "OK" to convert the picture to black & white.

5. Click the "File" menu, then "Save As." Type a file name and click "Save" to store the image in black & white.
