How to Fit 10.5 Inch Rims on a Ford Mustang Cobra

10.5-inch rims on a Ford Mustang Cobra are typically used on the rear wheels to increase the contact patch of the tire. Thankfully, the wheel well is large enough to accommodate the wheel. However, you may find that the largest contact patch that this setup will allow is 275mm. This may vary according to the year of your Mustang, so verify with a tire shop what the maximum size tire your Mustang will accommodate if you use a 10.5 inch rim on the rear tires.

Things You'll Need

• Tire wrench
• Jack
• 2 Jack stands
• Wheel blocks

Instructions

1. Place wheel blocks in front of the front tires to make sure that they do not roll.

2. Break the lug nuts loose on the rear wheels by turning the lug nuts 45 degrees counterclockwise with a tire wrench.

3. Jack up the rear of the Mustang Cobra using the rear jack point located near the trunk area.

4. Place a jack stand under each of the rear pinch welds or use the rear crossmember. Lower the Cobra onto the jack stands.

5. Remove the lug nuts on the wheels and pull the wheels off.

6. Mount the new 10.5-inch wheels and tires on the wheel hub. Tighten the lug nuts down and lower the vehicle to the ground.
