Instructions

    • 1

Measure the face from chin to top of forehead and add 2 inches. This will be measurement A. Measure from earlobe to earlobe, across front of face; this is measurement B. Cut out a piece of cardboard that is A inches by B inches.

    • 2

Fit to face keeping the bottom at chin level. Use a pen to mark where the eyes, mouth and ears are. (The cardboard should not cover the ears, but will end just before them.) Cut out the eye and mouth holes. Cut holes just above the ears for the ties; then, on each side cut an additional hole an inch above the tie holes for the bolts. Place back on face to make sure all the holes are in the right spots. Make necessary adjustments.

    • 3

Paint green and allow to dry.

    • 4

Glue a 1 inch strip of black plush along the top (one of the B sides). Dry.

    • 5

Paint a black line, parallel with the top between the hair and the eyes. Then paint a series of half-inch lines on top of the original line, but perpendicular to it; about 3/4 apart. These form the stitches. Draw a black triangle between the eyes and mouth for the nose.

    • 6

Put the bolts through the holes. On the inside place the washer and the nut. Don't screw the nuts on very far as the bolts should dangle on the outside.

    • 7

Tie the ends of the black ribbon to the holes below the bolts.

Tips & Warnings

  • Complete this costume with a black top, pants and shoes; a dark blazer and green gloves. Use black face paint around your child's eyes and mouth to make them look more sinister as they peer through the mask.
