1
List your contact information as the header in your resume. The text should be slightly larger than the other text in your resume. Make it easy for a potential client to find your telephone number and physical address or email address.
-
2
Develop a highlight or objective statement that best defines yourself and your experience. Try to incorporate some of your skills. For example, you can describe yourself as a "hard worker with eight years of in-home cleaning experience" or having "over 100 satisfied clients." Try to grab attention with the statement but be honest.

3
List any professional certifications, if applicable. List your years of experience and talents, rather than listing a detailed employment record. If you have been cleaning homes for years, chances are good you have performed work for dozens or even hundreds of clients. You can use your best references to highlight that.
-
4
Develop your reference list. The majority of the references you provide for potential clients should be current or previous clients. Give each person you use a courtesy call beforehand. It is recommended to provide as many references to a client as you can, without overloading them. Eight to 10 should suffice. Make a note that others are available upon their request.

Tips & Warnings
Add a small photo of yourself to your resume. While this is not common in America, it is universal in many European countries. Having a photo on your resume will help private clients make a connection with you when they review their applicants. Be sure to smile. Use a word processor to help you check for spelling and grammar errors. Microsoft Word or Apple's Pages program will work fine. Print your resume professionally. No wild fonts or crazy colors.
