How to Clean Stainless Steel Silverware
Stainless steel is a material that is an iron alloy. While stainless steel is a protective coating to avoid rust, the silverware can become dull. It is important to take proper care of your stainless steel silverware. When your silverware soaks in water, the finish can become dull. In addition, acid foods can eat away at the coating and remove the stainless steel finish. Always clean daily and maintain the shine at least once a week. Does this Spark an idea?

Plug the sink and fill with hot water. Add two or three drops of dish soap to the water as it is filling the sink.

Drop the silverware into the water. Allow to soak approximately two minutes before cleaning.

Wash each piece of silverware with the sponge. Once the food particles and dirt have dissipated, dry with the hand towel. Place the piece on your counter. Complete this step for all stainless steel silverware.

Pour roughly one-half cup of club soda into the bowl. Dip your rag into the soda. Then wipe down a piece of silverware. Start at the handle and rub completely around and towards the top. Rinse off under the faucet and dry with the hand towel again. Put the silverware away. Repeat this step for the remaining stainless steel silverware.

Tips & Warnings
Always rinse off any acid foods right after use. Clean stainless steel silverware as soon as possible. Stainless steel can become dull and tainted when sitting in a dishwasher or sink for long periods.
