Crossword puzzles are an excellent way to increase knowledge, improve memory and spend relaxation time. Crossword puzzles can help a student as a study aid. Make a crossword puzzle as a form of entertainment, as a teaching tool or to send a personal message to someone.

  • Dictionary

    Make a Crossword Puzzle

  1. Step 1

    Write out a series of words to include in the crossword puzzle answers. Make sure each word is correctly spelled. Check a dictionary for proper meanings and use a word processor spell check.

  2. Step 2

    Write the phrases or sentences that give hints to find the words chosen as answers.

  3. Step 3

    Find an online puzzle-maker site, such as puzzle-maker.com or edhelper.com, which suits your needs. Sites are available with free puzzle-making services and others have memberships that allow unlimited access to templates and puzzle-making guides.

  4. Step 4

    Use the template the site provides and enter each word and puzzle clue you have written down for the puzzle.

  5. Step 5

    Follow the directions on the puzzle maker or generator and click on the bar which prompts you to make or finish the crossword puzzle.

  6. Step 6

    Print the puzzle or store it in a file as instructed by the puzzle site.
