Things You'll Need:
- Deep-conditioning treatment
- Plastic shower cap
- Towel
- Silicone hair product in serum or gel form
-
Step 1
Get your hair trimmed. Split ends are a major source of flyaways and frizz, and they cannot be fixed, short of cutting them off. If your hair is long and the damage is concentrated in the bottom 2 or 3 inches, consider getting a shoulder-length cut. You'll get rid of all the damage and have hair that's easier to style. If you decide you want it long again, it can grow it healthier if you keep up with regular trims.
-
Step 2
Apply a deep-conditioning treatment once a week. This will help moisturize your dry hair and make it softer and shinier. You can buy a deep conditioner at the drugstore or salon, or make your own from mayonnaise, olive oil and eggs. Apply it to all of your hair, but more heavily on the damaged parts. Cover your head with a shower cap and wait for 20 minutes before rinsing it out.
-
Step 3
When styling your hair, use a hair product with silicone in it to control frizz. It will smooth down any flyaways on straight hair, and get rid of frizziness in curly hair.

on 9/5/2009 I tried mayo on my hair once. It did make it really soft.
