How to Make a Bracelet With Beads

There are different ways to make a beaded bracelet. Some ways require special tools and
can be time-consuming. However, you can easily make a bracelet with beads without a lot of tools or time. You won't need a lot of money, either. All the supplies you need you can get cheaply at craft stores, and the end result will look just as nice as if you'd spent an hour or more crafting the bracelet.

Things You'll Need

  • Elastic beading thread
  • Felt-tip pen
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • Beads

Instructions

    • 1

Unroll at least four inches of elastic beading thread from the spool. Place it on your work surface and place the back of your wrist on top of it with your palm pointing up. Pull up on the elastic thread--this is to estimate the length you will need for one bracelet.

    • 2

Wrap the free end of the elastic all the way around your wrist until it touches the end connected to the spool. Now add approximately two inches to the link and mark this on the thread with a felt-tip pen. This is where you will cut the thread--the extra length is for knotting the ends when you are finished making the bracelet.

    • 3

Tape one end of the thread to your work surface. Give the thread a gentle tug to make sure it will not come up too easily while you are adding beads.

    • 4

Decide the pattern of your beads (if using more than one kind or color) and then start stringing them on the elastic beading thread. When you have only two inches of bare thread left at the end, stop.

    • 5

Carefully remove the tape from the other end while holding it securely so that the beads don't spill off the thread. Tie the ends together securely using a double knot.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can make easy beaded necklaces this way as well--and both make nice gifts for young girls.

  • Cut enough extra thread length so that it does not break when you put the bracelet on your wrist. It will have a bit less room due to the beads; it must also be able to slide past the wider part of your hand.
