1
Plan your garden so that you will have a continuous supply of blooming flowers throughout the entire growing season. Suggested spring blooming flowers include columbine, honeysuckle, azaleas, and rhododendrons. Suggested summer blooming flowers include zinnias, morning glories, impatiens and trumpet vines. Autumn blooming flowers to include are phlox, cannas and butterfly bush.
-
2
Plant the different flowers around the garden so that the entire garden will have blooming flowers spread throughout the entire area during the entire summer.
-
-
3
Surround the perimeter of the hummingbird paradise with tall hedges. This will provide protection for the hummingbirds, as well as a convenient place for them to nest.
-
4
Install a misting birdbath near the flowers to provide water for the hummingbirds.
-
5
Hang several hummingbird feeders. Place several feeders in open areas to attract male hummingbirds. Place several more feeders in sheltered areas among tree branches for the female and baby hummingbirds.
-
6
Set out spoiling fruit on various surfaces to attract fruit flies. Hummingbirds enjoy eating fruit flies and they are naturally attracted to places where fruit flies are abundant.
-
7
Use the color red in and around your hummingbird paradise because hummingbirds may be attracted to red-colored items. Add a red garden flag or red furniture nearby to bring the hummingbirds to your yard.
