How to Make a Cinnamon Air Freshener
Freshen the air in your home without the use of chemicals. Make these cinnamon air fresheners that double as ornaments and hang them in your home for a fresh and natural scent. Make extras to give as gifts or to hang as Christmas ornaments.

1
Mix the cinnamon, applesauce and glue in a mixing bowl until it forms a dough. If the dough feels too stiff or dry to work with, add a little bit of water--1 tsp. at a time, until the dough forms a good, workable consistency.
-
2
Place the ball of dough between two large sheets of wax paper. Use a rolling pin to flatten the dough between the two sheets to approximately 1/2-inch thickness.

3
Use cookie cutters to cut any kind of shape you desire into the dough. As alternative options, you may sculpt the dough into shapes or make a variety of different sized dough balls.
-
4
Pierce each piece you've made with a drinking straw or disposable coffee stirrer to create a hole for threading and hanging.
Allow the pieces you've made to dry on a sheet of wax paper or a cooling rack for 48 to 72 hours.
-
5
Thread each piece with twine. You may choose to make a mobile with your air freshener--threading each piece and then attaching it to another piece with additional twine.
Hang your cinnamon air fresheners where they may be enjoyed for both their pleasant scent and their visual appeal.
