Some charge a hourly rate. If there are other personal shopping services in your area, check out their fees and consider keeping yours in line with theirs, or setting yours lower.

Allocate money for advertising. Decide what your advertising budget is going to be. Don't spend more than you can afford. In general, small businesses budget 1 percent to 5 percent of their projected gross sales for advertising and promotion.

Mount your advertising campaign. Take an ad out in the newspaper and the local business flier. Buy space in the Yellow Pages. Advertise on Craigslist.
