How to Make Christmas Crafts for Kids Snowmen
Kids love making decorations for Christmas. Transforming old CDs into a charming snowman decoration is a creative way to celebrate the season while also demonstrating recycling by reusing.
Things You'll Need
- 1 CD case
- 1 juice lid
- Hot glue gun
- Craft foam in a variety of colors including black and orange
- Google eyes
- Black permanent marker
- 6 inch piece of ribbon
- White spray paint
- Three small colored buttons

Making a CD Christmas Snowman

Spray paint the juice lid and CD case white. Wait for the paint to dry before proceeding.

Hot glue the painted juice lid to the CD for the snowman's head and body. Attach the ends of the ribbon to the juice lid for hanging.

Cut two pieces of black foam in the shape of a top hat. Glue these pieces to the lid with the ribbon loop running between the foam. Make a hat band out of a contrasting color foam and glue on the hat.

Cut the orange foam into the shape of a carrot and glue on the juice lid for the nose. Add the google eyes. Make a mouth by dotting black permanent marker in the shape of a smile.

Use the contrasting-colored craft foam to cut out a strip for a scarf and mittens. Glue the scarf at the neckline. Glue three buttons down the center of the CD and glue the mittens on each side of the belly area. Use a black marker to draw the arms connected to the mittens.

A sprig of mistletoe may be glued under the mitten hands to make this a great decoration to hang in a doorway.
