How to Adjust Integra Headlights

Newly adjusted headlights can make your Integra safer in adverse or dark conditions. Well adjusted headlights allow you to see better and allow others to see you sooner. However, misaligned headlights can actually prove more dangerous than their old counterparts as they may distract oncoming cars or not illuminate the correct area in front of a car that is necessary for proper maneuvering. Luckily, adjusting Integra headlights is not difficult and can quickly be performed by any budding mechanic.

Instructions

    • 1

Park the car three to four feet in front of a building with the headlights pointing at the side of the structure. Turn the lights on and flip them to "high beams".

    • 2

Use the chalk to mark the location of each headlight beam on the building. High beams should be pointed directly horizontal of their headlight location, so measure the distance from the ground to the top of the headlight itself and then measure the distance from the ground to the top of the headlight beam on the building. The distances should match.

    • 3

Pop the hood and locate the headlight adjustment screws on the back side of the headlight housing. Use the screwdriver to adjust the height of the beam by turning the screw clockwise to raise the beams up and counterclockwise to point the beams down. Align the two headlights with one another and then switch to low beams to make sure they are still aligned.

Tips & Warnings

  • Having a helper turn the lights on and off for you as this can make the job go faster and easier.
