Making a homemade bath scrub is convenient and fast. The ingredients needed to make the scrub can be found in most kitchens. You'll save money using an at-home scrub versus a store bought one. Use the scrub as a gift for friends and family, indulge in a luxurious spa retreat right in your home or store the mixture to save for later. Achieving smooth and healthy skin are the beneficial results of the sugar scrub.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 1/2 tbsp cooking oil
  • Drop of essential oil
  • Bowl or jar with lid
  1. Step 1

Put 2 cups of sugar into the mixing bowl. A small mixing bowl is sufficient for creating the scrub.

  2. Step 2

Drop in 2½ tablespoons of cooking oil into the bowl. Different kinds of oil can be used in the scrub. As you pour, make sure to go slowly in order to get the right amount. Some scrubs, depending on the oil, might need a bit more or a bit less.

  3. Step 3

Add a slight bit of essential oil into the mix. Use the scented oil sparingly as a little goes a long way.

  4. Step 4

Stir all the ingredients together with a spoon. Keep stirring until the oil is mixed well with the sugar.

  5. Step 5

Store in a bowl with a lid or put the sugar scrub into a favorite jar.

Tips & Warnings
  • If too much oil is poured into the mixture, put in more sugar until you get the right consistency. It's best to use the scrub once or twice a week depending on skin tone.
