How to Care for Gorilla Glue

Every handyman needs a good adhesive, and for many, that adhesive is Gorilla Glue. Gorilla Glue Co. is based in Cincinnati, Ohio, and holds an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau as of September 2009. Although the company sells a variety of glues and tapes, its flagship product is the original Gorilla Glue, which is waterproof, resistant to temperature extremes, sandable and paintable. It will also bond a variety of materials, such as metal, wood, stone, foam and glass, making it useful in a variety of applications.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove any solid layers or films from your Gorilla Glue by scraping the bottle or by carefully "fishing" them out of the bottle. Wipe the bottle dry after each use while the glue is still wet to prevent these layers forming.

    • 2

Use Gorilla Glue at room temperature. Once the glue cures, it will withstand extreme temperature, but do not heat before use.

    • 3

Squeeze all of the air out of the bottle, and put the cap on tightly before storage. This will also help prevent films and layers forming, especially in more humid climates. Moisture in the air will activate the curing process.

    • 4

Store your Gorilla Glue away from direct sunlight and moisture. You can store the glue upside down as an extra precaution against unwanted curing. Any air trapped in the bottle will rise to the bottom of the bottle. If a film forms, it will not affect usage.
