1
Ensure that your computer has a graphics software program on it, such as Adobe PhotoShop or Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo. If you do not have a graphics software program, you can purchase software from your local computer retailer.
-
2
Open the graphics software program. Select a greeting card template for your card. The templates can typically be located through options that are on the menu bar. However, this will vary by program.

3
Choose an image to go on the front of your greeting card template. Ensure that you have the rights to use the image in order to avoid copyright infringement. Only place the image on the outside. The inside of the card will be used solely for expressing written thoughts to the reader.
-
4
Select the "Font" type for your text. Begin typing text inside of your greeting card template. The text can express sentiments that deal with a variety of subjects, such as "Thank You," "Sympathy," "Congratulations," "Thinking of You" and "Miss You." The text should be written in first person as if you were speaking directly to the person reading the card. When creating the text, be sure to leave enough blank space for the card giver to write a brief personal sentiment.
-
5
Save your greeting card design. Print the card out on quality greeting card stock paper. This paper can be purchased from your local office supply store. When purchasing the card stock paper, be sure to also purchase envelopes for the greeting cards. If you like, you can purchase envelopes that match the color of the card stock paper.
-
6
Determine a price for your greeting card. When pricing, take into consideration the quality of card stock paper you are using and the envelope type. The higher the card stock equals the more expensive the card. The average greeting card costs between $1.99 to $5.99.
-
7
Stamp your customized logo on the back of your greeting card by using a customized rubber stamp. When getting your stamp customized, you can also include the greeting card price on the stamp. Customized stamps can be made and purchased from your local office supply store or from online suppliers such as RubberStamps.net, TheStampMaker.com, and RubberStampChamp.com (no endorsements).
-
8
Market your cards to the public. An easy way to do this is to create your own website that displays a portfolio of your cards that customers can purchase. To sell cards on your website, you will need a payment gateway to accept payments. Payment gateways can be obtained through various websites, such as PayPal.com, or through your own banking institution.
