Measure 1 cup of mayonnaise and 1/2 cup plain yogurt and place both ingredients in a medium-sized mixing bowl. You can use light mayonnaise instead of the original version, or you can substitute more yogurt for the entire measure of mayonnaise if you prefer.

2
Add 3 to 4 tbsp. of dijon mustard to the cole slaw dressing base and wisk together. Experiment with the amount of mustard to get the right amount of "tang" for your family.

Mix 1 tsp. red wine vinegar to the ingredients in the mixing bowl. If you do not have red wine vinegar, you can use another type of vinegar. Rice wine vinegar will give your cole slaw dressing an Asian flavor. Cider vinegar may produce a slight apple taste reminiscent of fall.

Cut a whole lemon in half with a sharp knife and squeeze the juice into the bowl. Juice the lemon through your fingers to avoid getting seeds in the dressing.
-
5
Wisk the cole slaw dressing to thoroughly combine all ingredients. Add sugar, salt and pepper to taste.
