How to Make Wasp Spray

Wasps can be a big nuisance if they make a nest near your home. Chances are you will not get stung if you are simply walking by, but the threat is enough to dampen any mood. It is especially important to get rid of wasps if you have small children, because they may not be fully aware of the dangers that wasps pose. Some people may think it is necessary to call an exterminator to control a wasp infestation, but it can actually be taken care of with a simple homemade spray.

Things You'll Need

• Spray bottle
• Peppermint extract
• Baby shampoo
• Water

Instructions

How to Make Wasp Spray

1. Put 15 drops of peppermint extract into the spray bottle.

2. Add a teaspoon of baby shampoo to the bottle. Use unscented shampoo if possible.

3. Fill the rest of the bottle with warm water and screw the top back on. Shake the bottle vigorously for five seconds.

4. Spray the liquid on the wasps and their nest. After a day or two of doing this, the wasps will relocate somewhere else.

Tips & Warnings

• Stand back a couple of feet when spraying the wasps to reduce the risk of getting stung.
