Homeschool TableFamiliarize yourself with different home school methods. While many homeschoolers consider themselves an eclectic mix, they tend to lean heavily toward one method or another. Find a method that appeals to you.

Shop for resources. The chosen home schooling method will help you determine the types of resources needed. Do not assume that you will need to spend a lot of money. By using the Internet and library, it is possible to home school virtually for free.

Homeschoolers are a Diverse CommmunityGet involved with your local home schooling community. Attend parent meetings, join co-ops, and attend park days or similar activities. Be outgoing and introduce yourself to people at these meetings. While you know you are new to the home school community, there is a very good chance the woman sitting across from you is also at her first event. Home school families are as varied as the rest of the American melting pot.
