Things You'll Need:
- 1 cup butter
- 2 cups flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 tbsp. vanilla extract
- 29 oz. can peaches
- 2 cups milk
- Baking pan
- Electric blender
- Saucepan
- Measuring cup
- Measuring spoon
- Bowl
- Spoon
-
Step 1
Preheat your oven at 350 degrees F. Make sure the large baking pan you will be using is clean and dry.
-
Step 2
Melt the butter in a small saucepan on medium heat. When finished melting, pour the butter into the baking pan. Tilt the pan so the butter goes to all corners of the pan.
-
Step 3
Blend the self-rising flour and white granulated sugar in a large bowl.
-
Step 4
Pour the milk in the bowl along with the vanilla extract. Mix together with an electric blender on medium speed, making sure to get all the lumps out of the batter.
-
Step 5
Pour the batter into the baking pan and scrape the sides of the bowl to get it all out.
-
Step 6
Open the can of sliced peaches or use 3 ½ cups of fresh sliced peaches. Evenly distribute the peaches from one end of the pan to the other without stirring the batter.
-
Step 7
Bake uncovered in the oven for an hour or until the top of the cobbler turns a golden brown. Remove the pan from the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes. Serve the peach cobbler with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
