How to Surf in Counter Strike
Surfing, in Counter Strike terms, is the action of sliding down a Counter Strike map using the physics of the game's engine. Players must find "surf maps" to take full advantage of the ability. Players will start at the top of the surf map with the only goal being to map it to the bottom without falling off. More difficult maps contain jumps and various hazards that usually require some trial and error before being able to complete successfully.

1
Press the "W" key to begin moving forward. Holding the "W" key will increase your acceleration based upon the structure of the map. Because of this, it is generally easier to successfully make softer turns while not pressing the "W" key.
-
2
Press the "A" key to turn left and the "D" key to turn right. The longer these are held, the more power is put into the turn. Pressing the "W" key (acceleration forward) and a turning key simultaneously will increase your odds of successfully completing a hard turn.

3
Skip across elements (usually water, but this can vary depending on the map) by pressing and holding both the "Crt" and spacebar keys right before you touch the element. Let go when you are ready to come out of skip stance.
-
4
Bump players by using the turning keys ("A" and "D"). Other players can accidentally (or not) knock you off the platform if they bump into you. If you want to practice in peace, you can avoid the interruption altogether by looking for a server without other players.
