How to Make Pet Rocks
Pet rocks were in high demand in the late 1970s. Advertising executive Gary Dahl invented the pet that wasn't when he determined that conventional pets were too much hassle. Dahl began selling the pet in stores, packaged with an instruction manual, for $3.95. While pet rocks aren't as popular as they once were, making your own pet rock will grant you access into the annual pet rock festival held in Massachusetts.

1
Choose a rock to make your pet. Rock selection may be the most important step in making a pet rock. Make sure the rock is large enough for your decorative preferences and it has at least one flat side.
-
2
Determine whether your pet rock will be male or female, and purchase craft materials that back up the gender choice.
-
-
3
Name your pet rock. Choose a rock- or stone-related name for character. Rocky Stonewell, or something along those lines, is a good choice.
-
4
Place glue where you want its eyes to be, place the eyes on and let the glue dry. You also can paint its eyes on if you desire.
-
5
Paint or add other accessories to you rock. Add hair, glasses, a beard or moustache, or any other features.
-
6
Convince your friends and family members to make pet rocks too, so your pet won't be alone. Host social events to talk about your pet rocks and take pictures.
