Sea salt scrubs are great for pampering.

Choose an essential oil scent that fits the gift-giving occasion for an added personalized touch. Instructions

    • 1

Measure 1 cup of Epsom salt and place it into the first mixing bowl.

    • 2

Measure 1/4 cup of sea salt and combine it with the Epsom salt.

    • 3

Add two to three drops of a desired essential oil or one drop of each oil if combining scents. Some ideas for natural scents include lavender or chamomile for a relaxation scrub or verbena and lemon for a rejuvenating scrub.

    • 4

Mix the salt and oil until completely blended and smell. If the scent seems too weak, continue adding essential oil drops one at a time and remixing the salts until the desired scent strength is reached.

    • 5

Choose a food coloring shade and add a few drops.

    • 6

Mix the salts and food coloring until they are thoroughly combined. If you desire a stronger color, continue adding food coloring drops one at a time and remixing the salts until the desired color is reached.

    • 7

Measure the remaining cup of Epsom salt and 1/4 cup of sea salt and place it in the second bowl.

    • 8

Add the same amount of essential oils as was added to the first bowl and mix until thoroughly combined.

    • 9

Choose a different color or do not add any color whatsoever to the second bowl to allow a variation between the two salts.

    • 10

Wash the large jar or bottle and thoroughly dry it by hand. Make sure that there is no remaining water inside the jar because water will cause the salts to melt.

    • 11

Pour the salts into the jar, layering the colors for a striped effect.

    • 12

      Tightly seal the jar.

    • 13

Tie the ribbon around the top of the jar.

    • 14

Tie the tablespoon onto the ribbon.

    • 15

Place a special message on the note card and the following instructions: "For a special treat, combine 3 tablespoons of these salts with 2 tablespoons of olive oil and massage onto the skin. Rinse and enjoy!"

    • 16

Punch a hole in the card and tie onto the ribbon.

    • 17

Finish off the ribbon by making a large bow.
