Braid hair into eight sections. Begin by using the handle of a fine-tooth comb to part hair one section at a time. Braid hair by using the cornrowing technique; braid hair to your scalp using three strands, starting from the top of your head continuing until all three strands have been braided. Do not leave ends of hair unbraided, because this will result in your ends being straight, while the rest of your hair appears wavy. Repeat process until your entire head is braided.

Style your wavy hair. Wait until your hair is completely dry, which can take approximately six to eight hours. Alternatively, use a hooded hair dryer if you do not have time to wait for hair to air dry. Carefully unravel your braids. Gently use your fingers to style your hair. Do not use a comb or brush, as this may cause your hair to become frizzy and waves to diminish. Apply hairspray to set your style. Use oil sheen to add shine.
Tips & Warnings
To preserve your wavy hairstyle, wrap it in a scarf or rebraid it nightly.
