There are dozens of recipes for buffalo wing sauce or dip. You should make the dip to your preference, but you'll likely want a mild, creamy sauce to balance the spiciness and saltiness of the buffalo wings. This recipe makes about 1 1/4 cups of dip.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp. white wine vinegar or white vinegar
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup shredded or crumbled cheese of your choice (bleu cheese is a popular selection)
  • Hot sauce to taste (optional)
  1. Step 1

Combine all ingredients except cheese and hot sauce in a serving bowl. Mix well.

  2. Step 2

If you are using a cheese like Swiss cheese that works best melted, transfer the dip to a saucepan, add cheese, and stir over low heat until the cheese is melted. If you are using a soft cheese such as bleu or chevre, you can skip this step and simply stir the room-temperature cheese into the dip.

  3. Step 3

Take the dip off of the stove and transfer back to the serving bowl. Add the hot sauce if desired. Enjoy!

Tips & Warnings
  • You may find yourself wanting to add variations to this basic recipe. Try adding the spices you like or a bit of the marinade you used for the buffalo wings. Experiment and make the dip your own.
