How to Chat Without Yahoo Messenger

The Yahoo! messenger chat application is a popular instant messenger system that allows people to connect online with other users. • Yahoo! ID

1. Register for a free Yahoo! ID account on the Yahoo! "Messenger for the Web" page. Click the "Sign Up" button and follow the prompts to complete your registration.

2. Click the "Sign In" button on the right side of the page, or click the "Sign In as Invisible" link below this button if you do not want other members to know that you are online.

3. Enter your Yahoo! ID and password and then click the "Sign In" button.

4. Double click a friend's name in the list on the left-hand side to initiate a chat session. Begin typing in the dialog box that appears and hit "Send" as you normally would when using the chat application.
