Things You'll Need:
- Autumn colors.
- Candles.
- Pine cones.
- Advertisements.
- Internet access.
- Creativity.

Step 1
COLOR.
Fall is full of beautiful colors. Start with a selection of Autumn colors that you really like or that match your existing decor. The term "harvest" is often used as a theme for both decorations and color schemes. I suggest the following colors for consideration. Gold, burnt orange, orange, dulled yellows, red derivatives, ever green shades, but not bright greens, browns and tans, mauve, cream and any color representing a temperate Fall season. -
Step 2
NATURAL DECORATIONS.
A beautiful Fall arrangement can contain items you can gather for free! These include pine cones, acorns, dry sticks, twigs, woody vines, pebbles and rocks, straw, pine needles, dried grasses and reeds, whet, oats, barley, dried berries, cat tails, dried seed pods, and anything else you can think of! You can put them in baskets or arrange them any way you like. -
Step 3
FIGURES.
Popular "harvest" theme, Autumn, or Fall figures include a variety of characters and things. These can include scare crows, pumpkin characters, pilgrim figures, and birds. The most common birds are crows, pheasants, quail, and turkey. -
Step 4
CANDLES AND SCENTS.
It is said that scent is the strongest sense tied to memory. There are many autumn theme fragrances in many ways to disperse them. There are jar candles that can be burned or heated on a warmer to add longevity. There are also season theme candles of all shapes and sizes. Tart burners use a small tea light candle to warm a wax tart, which gives a more fragrant result with the ambiance of a candle. There are reed diffusers, room sprays, and potpourri. Any fall scent will have names that represent the season. Enjoy smelling and selecting them! -
Step 5
ECONOMICAL STORES.
Believe it or not you can find very attractive holiday and seasonal decor at some surprising places. At Dollar Tree where everything is only $1, I got small candles in glass jars, Autumn leaf garland, scare crows, decorative gourds, pumpkins, and ribbon. You can also find items at dollar general. Combine these small items with larger ones from craft stores and you will be able to make some very nice displays. Michael's craft stores often have sales on items that are very unique. If you go to their website and sign up, they will send a 50% off coupon as well as many other benefits. I purchased beautiful feathered birds to add to my more economical decor, and made some very nice displays!
