How to Knit Golf Club Covers

Make these cozy knit golf club covers for all of the golfers in your life. To make an entire set, buy additional yarn in the main color and a different contrasting color for each of the covers in the set. That way the golfer can tell which club is inside.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Knitting needles sizes 6 and 8
  • 2 ounces yarn in main color
  • 2 ounces yarn in contrasting color
  • Yarn sewing needle
  1. Step 1

    Cast on 40 stitches using No. 6 needles in the main color.

  2. Step 2

    Knit 2, pearl 2 for five rows.

  3. Step 3

    Next row: Attach the contrasting color to the right side. Knit across the row.

  4. Step 4

    Next row: Knit 2, pearl 2 to the end of row.

  5. Step 5

    Next row: Drop the contrasting color and attach the main color. Knit 2, pearl 2 for every row until the piece measures 5 inches.

  6. Step 6

    Next row: Knit 2 together, pearl 2 together across the row (20 stitches remaining on the needle).

  7. Step 7

    Next row: Knit 1, pearl 1 for three rows.

  8. Step 8

    Change to size 8 needles. Increase one stitch in every stitch across the next row (40 stitches on the needle).

  9. Step 9

    Knit 1 row, pearl 1 row for 5 inches.

  10. Step 10

    Next row: Knit 2 stitches together across the row (20 stitches on the needle).

  11. Step 11

    Pearl the next row.

  12. Step 12

    Next row: Knit 2 together (10 stitches on the needle).

  13. Step 13

    Cut yarn leaving a 20-inch strand. Thread the yarn sewing needle and draw it through the stitches remaining on the needle.

  14. Step 14

    Match the edges together and sew the seam.

  15. Step 15

    Optional: Make a pompom from the contrasting color and sew it to the top of the golf club cover.
