How to Bake Spiderman Cupcakes

Ordering character cakes at a grocery store or bakery can get expensive. Cupcakes work just as well as cake without worrying about having a knife around kids and fighting over who gets what piece. Bake the cupcakes at home and let the little one help out. Use Spiderman printed cupcake liners, which can be found at cake stores or most grocery stores. Plan on spending about 15 minutes preparing the cupcakes to bake.

Things You'll Need

• 1 box of yellow or white cake mix
• 1 bag of cupcake liners
• Red food coloring
• Blue food coloring
• 1 jar of white icing
• 2 spoons
• 2 small bowls
• Red and blue sprinkles

Instructions

Cupcakes

1. Prepare the cake mix according to the directions on the box.

2. Split the batter into two bowls.

3. Add four to six drops of red food coloring to one bowl and four to six drops of blue food coloring to the other bowl.

4. Mix in the food coloring well.

5. Use a spoon to fill the each cup one-fourth of the way full with red batter. Fill halfway full with blue batter.

Icing

1. Bake the cupcakes and allow to cool completely.

2. Spread icing on top of the cupcakes.

3. Add sprinkles.

Tips & Warnings

• Let the cake cool completely before icing. Icing too early causes uneven icing and cracking.

• Never allow kids to touch the oven or hot pans.
