How to Create the Perfect Smoothie
A fruit smoothie provides the vitamins and minerals of fruit in a refreshing drink. Making fruit smoothies at home avoids the high sugar content found in store-bought smoothies. Use fresh fruit, organic, if possible, to get the highest nutrients. Use a blender that can crush ice. Finely ground ice adds to the smooth texture. Crushed ice works best, but cubed can be used. Things You'll Need
- 3/4 cup of ice
- 1 whole peach
- 1 whole banana
- 6 strawberries
- 1 cup of orange juice
- 1 tbls sugar

Prepare the Fruit

Wash the fruit with warm water. Scrub off any dirt spots with a vegetable brush. Pesticides can seep through banana peels, so wash the banana too.

Cut the fruit into small pieces. Throw away the peach pit, strawberry tops and banana peel.

Put the fruit in the blender.
Making the Smoothie

Pour the orange juice over the fruit.

Add the sugar. Sugar brings out the flavors in the fruit. Do not add if you want to cut out the small amount of sugar.

Add ice.

Blend until smooth. Serve immediately.
