Instructions

    • 1

Paint the wooden base black, and set it aside to dry.

    • 2

Cut a hole in the bottom of the paper cup just large enough to fit the paper towel roll through. Push the paper towel roll up through the bottom, so that only about two inches are inside the cup. Tape the roll into place.

    • 3

Insert the bottom portion of the paper towel roll into the aluminum can, the cup will be the top of the trophy. Trim the paper towel roll to make the trophy the desired height. Once you have fitted everything, tape the paper towel roll into the aluminum can. This is the frame for your trophy.

    • 4

Cover the entire frame of your trophy with the aluminum foil. It is a good idea to use several layers as this will make the trophy more sturdy.

    • 5

Affix the trophy to the wooden base using the rubber cement. Set aside to dry for at least two hours.

Tips & Warnings

  • Personalize your trophy by writing the winner's name on the base with a silver permanent marker. Try making a larger-scale trophy out of a coffee can, wrapping paper tube, and paper bowl.
