How to Use Garmin Legend

Garmin Legend series GPS devices provide hand-held GPS navigation that is simple to operate. With features that allow you to mark Waypoints, find addresses and plan routes, you'll never have to worry about stopping for directions again.

Instructions

1. Mark your current location as a Waypoint with your Garmin Legend series GPS device. Press and hold the thumb stick until the "Mark Waypoint Page" is displayed. Your Waypoint will be assigned a three digit number. If you would like to change the name of the Waypoint, highlight the name field and use the thumb stick to operate the on-screen keypad. Highlight "Okay" and press in on the thumb stick to save the new Waypoint.

2. Find a Waypoint with your Garmin Legend by using the thumb stick to choose the Waypoint option from the find menu. Use the thumb stick to scroll through the list of Waypoints until the appropriate Waypoint is highlighted. Press in on the thumb stick to display information about the Waypoint. Select "Go To" and "Okay" to begin navigating to the Waypoint.

3. Navigate to a point of interest with your Garmin Legend. Access the find menu by pushing the "Find" button on the GPS receiver. Use the thumb stick to highlight the "Points of Interest" option and press it to see the points of interest category list. Select the appropriate category and press the thumb stick to display subcategories. Choose "By Name" to enter the name of your desired destination using the on-screen keypad. Select the "Go To" option to begin navigating to your destination.

4. Find an address with your Garmin Legend by pressing the "Find" button to access the find menu. Highlight the "Address" option and press the thumb stick to display the find address page. Use the keyboard to enter the destination house number and street name, then choose "Go To", followed by "Okay" to navigate to the destination address.

5. Create a route with your Garmin Legend by accessing the routes page from the main menu. Press the "New Route" button and press the thumb stick to access the find menu. Choose "Find Waypoint", highlight the desired Waypoint and select "Add to Route". Repeat to add additional Waypoints to the route. When you've finishing building your route, select the "Go To" option to begin navigating.

Tips & Warnings

• To find a freeway exit using your Garmin Legend, press the "Find" button to display the find menu. Use the thumb stick to highlight "Exits" and press it to display a list of available exits. Select an exit from the list using the thumb stick and press it to display the exit information. Select "Go To" and "Okay" to begin navigating to the exit.

• Do not operate the Garmin Legend GPS device while driving. If you need to make a change in your route, pull over to the side of the road or ask a passenger to make the necessary changes for you.
