Garmin Zumo series GPS devices provide powerful GPS navigation for your motorcycle. Learning to use the Garmin Zumo GPS receiver is simple and can be done in just a few easy steps. You'll be out on the open road in no time.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Garmin Zumo series GPS device
  1. Step 1

Press and hold the "Power" button to turn on your Garmin Zumo. Take the GPS receive outside, away from mountains, tall buildings or heavy foliage where it has an unobstructed view of the sky. Wait for the GPS receiver to acquire the necessary satellites. The green bars located in the top left corner of your screen indicate satellite signal strength.

  2. Step 2

Find a point of interest with your Garmin Zumo by selecting "Where To?" from the "Main Menu" screen. From the Where To? menu, select "Food, Lodging...". You will be taken to a subcategory list. Scroll through the list to find the appropriate subcategory and then touch "Next". Select your destination from the list of subcategory search results and tap "Next" to display destination information. Touch the green "Go" button to begin navigating to your destination.

  3. Step 3

Navigate to a specific address with your Garmin Zumo by first selecting "Where To?" from the "Main Menu" screen. Select "Address" from the "Where To?" menu and use the on-screen keypad to enter the destination city, street name and house number. When you have entered the complete address, touch the green "Go" button to navigate to the address.

  4. Step 4

Find an address you've used the Garmin Zumo to find previously by selecting "Where To?" from the "Main Menu" screen and then "Previously Found" from the "Where To?" menu. Scroll through the list of previously found addresses and select your desired destination. Touch the green "Go" button to begin navigating to the destination.

  5. Step 5

Add a stop to your Garmin Zumo route. While following an active route, touch the "Menu" button at the bottom of the map screen and select "Where To?". Search for a point of interest, address or previously found address as described in Steps 2, 3, and 4. When you've found the desired destination, touch "Go", followed by "Add as Via Point" to add this stop before the final destination in your route. If you would like to make the new stop the new final destination, touch "Set as New Destination". Repeat the process to add additional stops to the route.

Tips & Warnings
  • Hold down the "Back" button to be taken to the Main Menu screen.
  • Do not attempt to operate the Garmin Zumo while driving. If you need to make changes to your route, pull over to the side of the road.
