How to Solve a Wedding Vow Brain Teaser

The Wedding Vows brain teaser is from the rope and ring genre of teaser toys. A single piece of rope or string is tied on both ends to a wooden block, with the string wrapping around itself in a center hole of the block to create two hanging portions with a ring on each. The player's challenge is to pass one ring over to its partner, a seemingly impossible feat with the knots as they sit.

Instructions

1. Pull down on the center anchor loop so that it is not tightly pulled against the center hole.

2. Slide one ring along the string so that it sits within the anchor loop from the center hole.

3. Pull the string from both ends back through the center loop until there is almost none left hanging below the wood, creating two loops.

4. Slide the ring along the string and through the two loops.

5. Begin to tighten the center anchor loop again, making sure to slide the ring along so that it falls outside the anchor loop.

6. Allow the ring to fall down and take its spot beside its partner.
