Make a tug-and-toss dog toy. Draw a mark on one side of a tennis ball. Turn it over and make another mark on the opposite side.

Place the tennis ball in a vise to make a dog toy. Make sure it's fastened securely in the vise, but don't squish it.

Use a power drill to bore a hole--just a bit bigger than the diameter of the rope--into the ball where you made a mark. Flip the tennis ball over and drill another hole on the other mark. Make sure you have drilled all the way through.

Slide an end of the rope through both holes in the tennis ball. Push the ball to the middle of the rope. Then tie a knot in the rope at each side of the ball. Tie the two ends of the rope together to make a loop, and the dog toy is ready to use.

Tips & Warnings
To replace the tennis ball when it wears out, all you need to do is drill holes in a new ball. Untie the rope and slide the old ball off. Slide the replacement onto the rope and make the needed knots.
To avoid accidental chewing of pieces or choking, always supervise your dog when she is playing with this toy.
