Advances in the technology associated with digital photography has led to an increase in popularity of personal photography and image sharing. Beyond the cameras themselves, comprehensive software allows for the manipulation of even the most amateur photos into photos suitable for framing. Creating slideshows of your personal digital images is an easy way to share your creations with family and friends. You can create a photoshow by following a few steps.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Open your presentation software. Presentation programs are an easy way to create a slideshow with digital images that can easily be burned to disc or emailed to friends. If you do not have a presentation program on your computer, try PowerPoint. Select a blank presentation in order to start a photoshow without any pre-formatted boxes or margins.

  2. Step 2

Use the "Insert" drop down menu and click once on the "Picture" option and select "From File." Click once on the "Look in" drop down menu to choose a folder from which the photoshow pictures will be selected. Click once on a picture and then click once on the "Insert" button to add the image.

  3. Step 3

Right click once on the image after it has been placed in the slide. Select the "Format Picture" from the list of options. Click once on the "Size" tab of the pop up window and then once in the box next to the "Best scale" label. Click once on the "OK" button. This action will adjust the image to match the slide format and size.

  4. Step 4

Use the "Insert" drop down menu to select the "New Slide" option. This action will insert a blank slide following the current one, which will allow you to insert a new image. Repeat Steps 2 through 4 for each new image that you want to insert into the photoshow.

  5. Step 5

Use the "File" drop down menu to select the "Save As" option. Choose a folder in which to save the photoshow by clicking once on the "Save in" drop down menu. Choose "PPS" option in the "Save as type" field, which will have the photoshow into a format that will be viewable by anyone who is able to download Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer. Click once on the "Save" button after you type a name for the photoshow in the "File name" field.

Tips & Warnings
  • Prior to creating the photoshow, it will save time and frustration if you save all of the images you want to use into one folder.
