Step 1
You should first find the color you want. Be sure to check the color comparison on the back of the packaging. I personally only spend about $4 on a box of hair dye. The less expensive brand work great.
-
Step 2
Do not wash your hair prior to dying. It should at least 24 hours after you wash.
-
Step 3
Mix the dye as directed. Be sure to follow the directions completely while mixing. Use the provided gloves.
-
Step 4
Before dying, get an old towel and washcloth. Put water on the washcloth, so you can clean up any drops immediately.
-
Step 5
Now you are ready to dye your hair. Start from the front of your head. Go from the front to the middle of your head in lines. Cover the front of you head thoroughly.
-
Step 6
Now that the front is completed, desperate the back of your hair in 3 sections. Cover each section completely. Pay close attention to the edges.
-
Step 7
Save a small amount of the dye. Put all of your hair together, then stack on your head.
-
Step 8
Look in the mirror, and look for any missing parts. If there are any, you will use the remaining dye. If there aren't any, use the dye all over your hair. I usually use it on my ends, but I have longer hair.
-
Step 9
Now that your hair is covered, let it sit the amount of time stated on the directions. Before you rinse, let a small amount of warm water moisten your hair. Massage well, then rinse and follow the remaining directions provided.
