Curly hair is beautiful and unique in its own right and can be a great fun and cute style. However, it’s always nice to have the ability to wear a straight style for a more chic, sophisticated look.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Fine tooth comb
  • straightening serum, grease or leave in conditioner
  • blow dryer
  • flat iron
  • oil spray
  1. Step 1

If your hair is very kinky or curly make sure to blow dry your hair as straight as possible using a handheld blow dryer with a comb attachment. This will make straightening with your flat iron much easier and will give you a better ending result.

  2. Step 2

Plug in your flat iron and make sure it is set on a low setting depending on the thickness of your hair. It is always best to start with one of the lowest setting and increase the heat as you see necessary.

  3. Step 3

Once your hair is blow dried straight, part about a 1 inch section of your hair starting from the back of your head.

  4. Step 4

Apply a dab of straightening serum to this section of your hair. Take a fine toothed comb and comb the section straight to comb in the serum.

  5. Step 5

Pull the section taught with one hand and take the flat iron in the other. Hold the flat iron at the top of the section close to your scalp and press down on the hair. Turn the vertically so that you are pulling the hair of the side of the iron as your are pressing it straight. This will get the hair even straighter and will create a nice curl at the end.

  6. Step 6

Continue this process with your hair until you are finished.

  7. Step 7

To style run your fingers through your hair to loosely pull out the curls and blend the sections or a soft sexy curl. Or for a bob look comb through hair with a wide tooth comb.

  8. Step 8

If you would like to maintain this style for more than one day, set your hair on rollers at night and rap in a scarf. This will keep the hair straight until your next washing.
